Ms Muñoz has over 40 years of experience in the health care industry. Throughout her career, Ms. Muñoz has worked as a nurse, consultant, manager and director. She has worked for different national and international programs and has dedicated her professional life to the service and education of minority communities. As part of these efforts Ms Munoz initiated programs to increase the abilities of doctors and nurses to communicate basic sentences in Spanish with the Spanish-speaking patients. She developed cultural awareness seminars related to the Hispanic culture presented to health care service providers in Los Angeles County and throughout California. She has given lectures at the Harbor/UCLA Nurse Practitioner Program and the USC Language Department for Health Professionals on the subject of language and cultural awareness.

A strong advocate of accurate and appropriate translations and health educational materials in Spanish, Ms. Muñoz established important standards on levels of language and literacy for the educational materials developed by several HMOs.

Now in the position of Director, she hopes to maintain the same quality products as the ones she help to develop for other health agencies.
